Ontario Investing $5.3 million dollars to Ottawa-area Hospitals for 324,000 Additional Computed Tomography (CT) Hours

Ottawa hospitals to receive funding to reduce wait times to receive medical imaging. The Funding will support local hospitals including The Ottawa Hospital, The Queensway Carleton Hospital, Hôpital Montfort, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) .
OTTAWA – The Ontario government is supporting hospitals in Ottawa, serving residents of Carleton and the Eastern Ontario region with over $5.3 million in funding to reduce wait lists and to support 324,000 additional Computed Tomography (CT) hours and ensure timely access to medical imaging.
“This is another essential investment that will deliver services at our local hospitals that our city and my constituents rely on” said George Darouze, MPP for Carleton. “Investing In these hard working institutions is apart of our government’s commitment to improve access to medical imaging that is essential and life saving for residents.”
This investment will allow for improved access to care at our health care institutions in Ottawa and to deliver timely access to medical supports residents in Ottawa need.
The funding breakdown is as follows:
- The Ottawa Hospital: $2,382,000
- Hôpital Montfort: $1,519,250
- Queensway Carleton Hospital: $1,236,750
- University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI): $101,750
- Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) $98,500
