Funding will go to support important capital initiatives at Ottawa hospitals
OTTAWA – The Ontario government has announced that it is allocating up to $44,658,795.62 through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) to support eligible projects at 32 hospitals across the province. The funding will support minor infrastructure renewal projects under three priorities: health and safety, code compliance, and imminent breakdown.
Locally, four Ottawa hospitals will be receiving a total of $13,265,976 in additional funding to support a variety of projects such as replacement and modernization of elevators, electrical distribution equipment, and replacing roof coverings.
“Investing in hospital infrastructure is essential to maintaining safe, modern, and reliable care for patients and families,” said George Darouze, MPP for Carleton. “This funding will support critical upgrades to local facilities, helping ensure health care workers have the spaces and tools they need to deliver high-quality care, strengthening the foundations of our health care system for residents of Carleton and Ottawa.”
