Ontario Investing Over $1 Million to Improve Community Spaces in Ottawa

Province investing $1,043,000 to fund 10 local programs and services that help deliver critical community programming across Ontario

OTTAWA – The Ontario government is providing 10 non-profit organizations,in Ottawa with $1,043,000 in funding this year through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream. This investment will help improve community spaces, expand access to local programs and activities, and ensure residents can continue to benefit from the services and facilities that make Ottawa a great place to live, work and raise a family.

“Community organizations and not-for-profits play an essential role in supporting residents and strengthening our communities,” said George Darouze, MPP for Carleton. “By investing in capital projects that improve and modernize their facilities, our government is helping these organizations expand their impact, enhance the services they provide, and continue meeting the needs of people across Ottawa and Carleton for years to come.”

OTF’s Capital grant stream helps organizations improve their infrastructure so they can continue delivering programs and services that Ontarians need to thrive. Whether it’s purchasing equipment, building a new space or completing renovations, retrofits or repairs, these grants support projects that are making a difference in Ottawa.

In Carleton, Osgoode Township Museum will be receiving a $108,400 Capital grant to enhance museum interpretation through interactive exhibits, signage and multilingual displays, strengthening visitor engagement at a local rural destination in Vernon.

The Capital grant stream is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by investing in community infrastructure, supporting local organizations and creating the conditions for long-term economic growth and prosperity.
