Ontario Reducing Healthcare Wait Times in Ottawa with Over $7.1 Million To Reduce Wait Lists and Complete More Surgeries

Ottawa hospitals to receive incremental funding to reduce wait times and backlog. The Funding will support local hospitals including The Ottawa Hospital, The Queensway Carleton Hospital, and Hôpital Montfort.
OTTAWA – The Ontario government is supporting hospitals in Ottawa, serving residents of Carleton and the Eastern Ontario region with over $7.1 million in funding to reduce wait lists and complete more surgeries, including hip and knee replacements, cataracts, and other procedures.
“This Important investment is essential in delivering services at our local hospitals that the city and my constituents rely on” said George Darouze, MPP for Carleton. “Investing In these excellent institutions is apart of our commitment to improve services and to deliver for our residents.”
This investment will allow for improved access to care at our health care institutions in Ottawa and to deliver timely access to medical supports residents in Ottawa need.
The funding breakdown is as follows:
