Cellusys will create six new, good-paying jobs and protect seven positions in Ottawa

NEWS

OTTAWA – The Ontario government is welcoming an investment of $3,639,000 by Cellusys Communications Ltd, a technology developer that specializes in telecommunication services, to expand their capabilities and create six new, good-paying jobs in Ottawa.

The funding was announced today by George Darouze, Member of Provincial Parliament for Carleton.

“This investment by Cellusys, supported through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund, is a strong vote of confidence in our region’s manufacturing sector and skilled workforce,” said MPP Darouze. “By partnering with innovative companies, our government is helping to create good-paying jobs, strengthen local economies, and ensure Eastern Ontario remains a competitive place to do business and grow.”

With this investment, Cellusys will mobilize newly acquired technology to continue to develop cybersecurity products and expand exports in the western hemisphere to continue providing security solutions for companies as they upgrade their technologies. The upgrades will allow them to expand exports within Canada, the U.S., and South America as global telecommunications providers rely on the need for security solutions when upgrading from LTE/4G to 5G.

“Establishing a robust Canadian presence is a strategic priority for Cellusys, and this support from the Eastern Ontario Development Fund is a powerful catalyst for our growth. Our Ottawa office will serve as our regional headquarters for the Americas, acting as a self-sustaining hub where we can hire top-tier local talent to develop proprietary 5G and AI technologies. This investment enables us to expand our core network routing capabilities through our DSC platform while advancing our security and anti-fraud suites to protect networks from intrusion and reduce fraud-related losses,” said Brendan Cleary, CEO of Cellusys. “Additionally, our integrated analytics platform provides mobile network operators with the critical business insights they require to enhance network quality. By anchoring these operations in Ontario, we generate the revenue necessary to continually reinvest in our digital lab, create new high-value jobs, and ensure our industry-leading signaling solutions are built and supported right here in Canada.”

In support of this investment, the government is providing Cellusys with $122,649 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF).

“Employing more than 800,000 workers across the province, Ontario’s manufacturing sector is the economic engine of our nation,” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Our government is proud to support local companies like Cellusys Communications Ltd as they expand their operations, and we thank them for their contributions to Ontario’s dynamic and growing manufacturing ecosystem.”

Ontario is investing over $230 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 180 projects through the program, leveraging more than $2.6 billion in new investments and helping to create over 5,500 jobs.
